In an amazing game full of twists and surprises, the Krakens have defeated the Texas Earthlings 28 to 17 to win the playoff and advance to Tier 1.
Opening the game with a stunning 102-yard kickoff return by Krakens wide receiver Richfield, the Krakens dominated the first half, with a surprise change-up putting rookie quarterback Quentin Barnes at the tailback position, sporting the recently deceased Mitchell Fayed’s number 34, and veteran Don Pine as the starting quarterback. Barnes took quite a beating as tailback, but he ended up rushing for a total of 64 yards, and catching for a total of 82 yards, including a 45 yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
The Earthlings recaptured some momentum in the second half with their use of the "Wing-T" formation, which confused the Krakens and allowed the Earthlings to score two touchdowns in the third quarter. The Krakens were able to recover though, with rookie defensive tackle Mum-O-Killowee's fourth quarter 31-yard fumble sealing the Earthling’s fate and putting the game away for good.
The game's MVP award goes to the Krakens defensive tackle Mum-O-Killowe, who had a total of three sacks and a fumble-recovery for a TD.
Next week, the Krakens go on to face the Chillith Spider-Bears for Round Three of the Tier Two playoffs.
